February 9 proved to be a sad day for the showbusiness industry as Filipino comedian Domingo Vusotros “Bentong” Brotamante Jr.’s son in law confirmed the death of the comedian. He was only 55 years old.

The sad news was confirmed by Arvin Vincent S. Anierdes on Facebook where he said that Bentong passed away approximately 5am today at Fairview General Hospital in Quezon City.

The comedian had health complications as well as diabetes.
Another chance
Bentong first started as a production assistant that was always behind the camera until he was given a break as the sidekick of Willi Revillame in the latter’s TV shows like MTB, Wowowee, and Wowowin.
Bentong also played roles in the movies Jologs (2002), The Adventures of Pureza: Queen of the Riles (2011), and Shake Rattle and Roll XV (2014).
He also played the role of Mang Jules in the television hit series Luv U that ran from 2012 until 2016.
In an episode of GMA’s primetime variety show Wowowin aired on April 2016, Bentong thanked Revillame because he gave him another chance to work and strive for his family even if he is suffering from Diabetes. This is also when he admitted his disease to the public.

Family life
Bentong is married to Cecille Bernal and they have four children. He was born on January 12, 1964 in Tabaco, Albay.
