An inspiring Jollibee service crew has gone viral after she was pictured taking a break from work to attend her online classes. Her co-workers were amazed by her diligence. Soon, thousands of netizens also showered her with praise.
“Walang nakakapagod sa pagtupad ng pangarap,” said Jan Dominique Agravante, a service crew at Jollibee who was pictured studying on the floor of a Jollibee stockroom.
A graduating student taking up Business Administration, major in Marketing at the Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Marikina in the Philippines, this young woman is taking advantage of this year’s online classes.
She has been a working student for nearly 4 years, juggling time for her duty hours at work and her class hours back in school.
But the COVID-19 crisis proved to be more useful to Agravante and other working students like her. Instead of having to commute to her job and her school, she is now able to do her online classes even while she is at work. She only asks permission to take a break so she can attend the online classes as scheduled.
Agravante’s co-workers admired her hard work and determination to study, despite the circumstances.
“Every time na umaattend ka ng online class na naka uniform ka sobra kaming ginanahang mag tropa. Sobrang nakaka proud kasi kahit walang maayos na table and internet connection gumagawa ka pa rin ng way,” wrote one of her co-workers, Jirah Nicolas.
As expected, Agravante was surprised that her co-workers admired her so and that they would take a photo which would go viral on Facebook. She now encourages other students like her to study and work harder so they can all reach for their dreams.
“Walang nakakapagod sa pagtupad ng pangarap,” she said.
“Sa lahat ng gagawin natin, mapa-online class man iyan, trabaho, or sa bahay lang, kailangan nating isapuso lahat ng gagawin. Be productive everyday kahit na may pandemic po tayong nararanasan.”
